The USCOD achieves this by supporting, advocating, and promoting best practices in Medical Certification Cause of Death (MCCD) data collection and coding.

The USCOD does several things:

1. Creates and shares training materials about MCCD data collection and coding.

2. Helps government agencies and registration systems with technical support.

3. Studies how good MCCD data is.

4. Works with international groups to encourage better practices in MCCD data collection.

The USCOD wants to make MCCD data more accurate and reliable, so it can be used for better public health policies and programs.
